CVC INSURE protects the SA Historic Grand Prix Festival

  • Specialist classic, vintage and collectable (CVC) partners with South African Historic Grand Prix Festival
  • CVC Insure written onto the Infiniti insurance licence provides road risk cover and technical back-up for historic tour
  • Over 20 pre-war Grand Prix cars confirmed for the South African Historic Grand Prix Festival starting 25 November in East London
  • Over 120 of the best classic cars confirmed for Garden Party display on 1 and 2 December at Val de Vie

Classic, vintage and collectable vehicles represent numerous specific nuances and requirements when it comes to insuring them. Their values, condition, scarcity and the way in which they are used is unlike the average commuter car, so their insurance cover also needs to be as bespoke as the cars themselves.

The pre-war grand prix cars entered for the South African Historic Grand Prix Festival at East London on 25 November and Val de Vie in the Western Cape on 1&2 December are about as unique as they come. Specialist classic, vintage and collectable insurer, Infiniti, CVC Insure powered by Roxsure will be partnering with the event and providing road risk cover and technical back-up assistance for the entrants.

“The SA Historic Grand Prix Festival is an ideal platform for us to showcase the bespoke insurance offering we provide for classic car collectors,” says Jason Grove from Roxsure, creator of CVC Insure. “We have been able to tailor a specific product to cover these special cars during their tour between East London and Cape Town and that is testament to our enthusiasm to build a tailored solution for any classic car collector in South Africa.”

In-between racing at East London on 25 November and going on display at the Val de Vie Luxury Estate the following weekend, the South African Historic Grand Prix Festival entrants will take in the best driving roads and scenery, culinary delights and hospitality that South Africa can muster – most of them in their pre-war cars.

“This is an occasion that is unlikely to ever be repeated in South Africa,” says event organiser, Mark Woolley. “The collection of cars we have assembled ranks amongst the best in the world and many of them are actual cars that competed in the original South African Grand Prix between 1934 and 1939. We are delighted to have the calibre of CVC Insure powered by Roxsure and Infiniti Insurance Limited supporting the event, not only in name, but in such a meaningful way, with their tailored solutions covering the precious cars on the event.”

Cars confirmed for the event include the 1934-winning Whitney Straight Maserati 8CM, the 1937-winning ERA, another SA Grand Prix ERA, the ex-Dick Seaman MG K3, Rileys, a brace of MGs, two Aston Martin Ulsters, Bugattis and an Alfa Romeo P3.

With the event just five weeks away, limited general access and VIP Hospitality tickets for both the East London Race event and the Grand Prix Garden Party are now selling fast. With no tickets available at the gate, organisers strongly urge spectators to purchase tickets now at www.sahistoricgp.com. Follow the event on Facebook - SA Historic Grand Prix Festival.
